Dina Lohan, Lindsay Lohan’s Mother, has Never Met Her Boyfriend of Five Years

On season 2 of Celebrity Big Brother, Dina Lohan declared her love for a man she has never met. She’s going to marry him!

“I can’t wait to tell you about this guy… I’ve been talking to him for five years. Like, every day. A lot. I feel like I know him,” Lohan revealed during Thursday night’s episode.

She explained to the other contestants, Kandi Burruss, Tamar Braxton, and Natalie Eva Marie, that the two haven’t met yet because she is based in New York while he is in San Francisco to take care of his mother. What’s more? He. Doesn’t. Use. FaceTime.

“He’s real. I swear, it’s crazy. But I’m going to marry him. It’s really, really true. I talk to his ma!”

OK DINA. Seems sus. Not even Burruss, Braxton, or Marie believed her. They told her that she was probably being catfished. Of course this interaction caught the attention of Catfish host, Nev Schulman. He offered to find Lohan’s “boyfriend;” fingers crossed that we get an episode about that soon!

Ellen Page Calls Out Chris Pratt for Supporting Problematic Church

Earlier this week, Chris Pratt went on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and talked about his Christian faith. What he neglected to mention, according to Ellen Page, is that his chosen place of worship has a long history with anti-LGBTQ stances. She wrote on Twitter, “Oh. K. Um. But his church is infamously anti lgbtq so maybe address that too?”

Pratt, along with other celebrities like Kendall Jenner and Justin Bieber, frequents Hillsong, a “hipster church” known for its good looking congregation, pop choir, and charismatic pastor. Behind all this lies some pretty regressive beliefs about the LGBTQ community and abortion that few are willing to talk about. In an article, a former congregant wrote, “I don’t regret the decision to walk away from a church that cares so much about fame more than faith.”

Y’all Ready for a Host-Less Oscars?

For the first time in 30 years, the Oscars will not have a host. The decision was made months after comedian Kevin Hart pulled out from hosting the ceremony due to controversy spurred by homophobic comments he had made in the past.

Instead of an opening monologue from a host, the Oscars this year will focus on the celebrities lined up for presenting the awards.

Additionally, the producers of the show are confident that the star-studded performances scheduled for the ceremony, namely Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga’s “The Shallow,” will provide enough entertainment for the viewers. By getting rid of a host, the producers are also hoping to fit the ceremony within three hours. Good luck with that!

Les Moonves is Back

Les Moonves is back after his very public firing as CEO of CBS. According to a filing with the California Secretary of State’s office, the former executive is planning to run a new company called Moon Rise Unlimited. The document also explains that the new company will focus on “entertainment services,” with additional branches: Moon Rise Productions (dedicated to film and television series) and Moon Rise Technologies (dedicated to streaming services and distribution).

Moon Rise Unlimited is located in one of West Hollywood’s tallest buildings, a space paid for by CBS. This office arrangement is unusual, considering how CBS denied Moonves his $120 million severance package is being sued by the disgraced executive.

Yet, according to the New York Times, Moonves’ exit agreement with CBS requires that the company pay for Moonves’ office services for a year.

Fiji Water Girl Accused of Stealing Images for Marketing

Remember that one girl who appeared in the background of every single Golden Globes red carpet photo? Well, she (actress Kelleth Cuthbert, a.k.a. the Fiji Water Girl) is the target of a cross complaint filed by the Fiji Water Company.

The dispute began when Cuthbert filed a suit against the water brand; she claimed that they used her image for marketing without her permission. The cross complaint from Fiji, however, states that she had agreed to serve as a brand ambassador, allowing Fiji to use her image at the awards ceremony however they liked.

Cuthbert’s lawyer released the following statement about the cross-complaint:

“Suing Fiji Water was a last resort for Ms. Cuthbert, who had hoped to discreetly resolve this dispute. Fiji Water used her image without a contract, without consent, and without paying her, all for Fiji Water’s financial gain. Models make a living off the use of their image. No one would expect other professions to work for free. Fiji Water’s cardboard cutout campaign used Ms. Cuthbert’s image unlawfully and she just wants what is fair.”

Sean Penn is Obsessed with A Star is Born

Last week, Sean Penn penned an op-ed for Deadline, his bold declaration of love for A Star is Born. I love the film and believe it should win every single category at the upcoming Oscars. But, my feelings are nowhere as intense as Penn’s.

Below are some phrases from the piece that stood out to me:

  • A Star is Born is simply everything that movies should be. If we honor anything, this should be it.”

  • “[A Star is Born] is the achievement of one artist who had the courage to stand naked and jump from the edge of a vertical cliff…”

  • “This is what inspires and encourages actors to remember what it is to operate as a character in the real world.”

Welcome Back to Monterey!

On Friday, HBO revealed that season 2 of Big Little Lies will premiere sometime in June. Along with this announcement, the series creator, David E. Kelley released a series of photos from the upcoming show.

Season 2 welcomes Meryl Streep as Mary Louise Wright, the mother of Alexander Skarsgard’s character, Perry Wright, from season 1. She’s in Monterey to help take care of her grandchildren, support Nicole Kidman’s Celeste, and ask questions about her son’s death.

Another new character is Ira Farber played by American Horror Story veteran, Denis O’Hare. No details about the character have been released.

Controversial Grammys Makes History

Considering how big-time artists, like Ariana Grande and Drake, refused to attend the Grammys and all the controversy surrounding it, I was a little hesitant about watching the show. People kept referring to Sunday night’s event as “the end of music’s biggest night.”

However, history was made when Cardi B won Best Rap Album. She is the first solo woman to win that category. Childish Gambino also broke records by being the first rap artist to win both Song and Record of the Year. Unfortunately, Gambino was one of the many artists who declined to perform and attend the show, so he was not there to accept the award in person. Hopefully, all this gets sorted out by next year because celebrating an artist who could care less about the attention is embarrassing to say the least.
